Selecting materials for detailed beadwork requires balancing precision, thread clearance, and structural reliability. The Mino 11/0 was developed to meet those requirements directly: a dependable, consistent round seed bead constructed to support structured, high-density beadwork and intricate textile construction.

This release outlines the full technical profile of the line — sizing and consistency, hole geometry, material specifications, and recommended applications — so you can evaluate Mino against the demands of your own work.

Consistency is the core engineering focus of the Mino 11/0 line, and it is the characteristic that matters most in structured beadwork.

Uniformity characteristics. The Mino series delivers a level of dimensional uniformity comparable to traditional Czech glass seed beads. In practice, this means beads hold structured rows in flat and tubular stitches: peyote, brick stitch, and square stitch patterns maintain even alignment, and dimensional work such as ropes and herringbone tubes retains its intended shape.

As with all standard glass production, slight organic variations intrinsic to the manufacturing process are present. Mino is engineered to minimize these variations, not to eliminate the character of genuine glass. The result is bead-to-bead consistency you can plan tension and structure around.

Hole geometry. Each Mino 11/0 bead is formed with a smooth, non-abrasive inner channel. Multiple thread passes are supported without the friction and thread damage caused by rough or sharp-edged holes — relevant for peyote with thread-saver starts, square stitch joins, right-angle weave, and any construction method that revisits the same bead repeatedly. Standard size 10–12 beading needles fit the inner channel, so your existing needle and thread setup works without modification.

Color coatings and surface finishes on the Mino line are formulated to withstand everyday friction and handling during assembly — including the repeated manipulation inherent in high-density beadwork.

As with any glass bead finish, overall color fastness over time depends on handling techniques, storage environment, and exposure to external elements such as prolonged sunlight and skin oils. Surface treatments are engineered to resist rub-off during construction; gradual fading under prolonged adverse exposure cannot be entirely ruled out for any glass finish. For best long-term results, store finished pieces away from direct sunlight and minimize contact with cosmetics and lotions.

Beadweaving. Designed for off-loom techniques including Peyote, Brick Stitch, and Square Stitch, where even alignment and predictable bead footprint are required. Charted and geometric patterns render cleanly thanks to the line's dimensional uniformity.

Edging and medallions. Fits cleanly around cabochons and backing fabrics to create clean borders and central designs. Bezels sit flat, and edging maintains an even, professional finish.

Fringe and stranding. Maintains consistent weight distribution for fluid drape and straight lines — the property that keeps fringe hanging true and stranded work free of kinks and corkscrewing.
